Know it bites as far as how many teams will make the playoffs this season and here's the scoop. The DIII Skills Camp and Select Side was scheduled again like in 2007 where they would play in the Battleship Tournament in Alabama first weekend of November and start the cup schedule on Nov 21st and finish on Apr 10th. Unfortunately it was scrapped in October for various reasons and then it was too late to push the start of the season up. The schedule was made with assumptions made for when the various Championships (West & TRU) would be which that changed and with Westerns on May 1st the TRU set a Apr 17th so there was no open weekend for Quarter-Finals. Options were to movie up the end of the season to Apr 3rd or moving TRU's to Apr 24th. Discussions were had and with schedules posted and it being Easter weekend a move up to Apr 3rd would be tough and pushing TRU's to Apr 24th would mean three straight playoff weekends with the latter two having two and three multiple matches respectively which would be tough on any club. The DIII clubs voted and consensus was to scrap the quarter-finals for this season which pretty much all of us are now regretting as it looks there will be quite a few 7 and 8 win teams staying home. And now you know the rest of the story. Paul Harvey - 3/4/10
John emailed the playoff structure before the season started... we all knew it was going to be a tougher playoff selection this year memory mav - 3/4/10
That playoff structure seems kind of shitty. From the looks of it you could have three or four 8-2 clubs missing the playoffs. With only 4 of 20 teams making the playoffs they are leaving out some decent teams. Last year 8 teams made the playoffs and now it's 4? I'd ask who voted for this but then I am reminded that there is no vote anymore in TRU so fuck me. Maybe next year the dictators will only take two teams and hand pick them. For that matter why not take teams from a higher division and make them play in the Div III playoffs...oh wait they already did that a few years back. Why not take at least the first and second place teams and give the top team a bye? Speaking of bi's, I sure enjoyed that post game pary at the Diablos leather bar. Playoff Mav - 3/3/10

Better let Ft. Sill know about the traffic issues on 360. - 3/3/10
Work on the Texas 360/Division Street interchange in Arlington has carried on for much of the past year with minimal interruption to traffic -- but that's about to change.
This weekend, motorists are urged to avoid the area altogether.
Both directions of traffic on the notoriously congested Texas 360 will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Sunday, weather permitting.
Traffic will be detoured as a precaution while workers hang bridge beams over the freeway's main lanes, said Val Lopez, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Transportation.
Northbound traffic on Texas 360 will exit at Abram Street to Great Southwest Parkway and across the railroad tracks. Southbound traffic will exit at Division Street to Stadium Drive and across the tracks. Detour signs will be posted.
The $56 million project includes rebuilding two bridges -- one for cars on Division Street, the other for Union Pacific Railroad freight trains -- at Division Street and 360. Ramp and frontage road improvements are also being made.
The work should be completed by 2012. The project's contractor has pledged to avoid closing freeways lanes during the work, and in most cases lanes are closed only on nights or weekends, Lopez said. Go Another Way Mav - 3/3/10
